Kittens, let’s line up a carefully curated selection of the AMAs attendees, give their outfits the once-over and send them all on their way, well and truly judged. Why? Because it’s good for the soul? Who says so? We do. Now stop questioning us and put your judging pants on.

Amandla Stenberg in Ralph Lauren

LOVE. The top half is so perfectly rendered that the jeans don’t come off like the semi-cliche they could have been. It all looks really well coordinated.

Amber Heard in Ralph & Russo Couture

It’s pretty and that bronzey color really suits her, but it’s surprisingly standard and old school.

Bebe Rexha in Balmain

Can’t really argue with ’80s Dynasty Glam when it’s done well.

Busy Philipps in Michael Kors Collection

Meh. It’s all just okay. The entire look feels kind of stale, from the exposed bra to the sequined flared pants. And that hair doesn’t go with the look at all.

Camila Cabello in Armani Privé

It’s a bit too simple and unassuming for an event like this but we can’t say she looks bad in it.

Carrie Underwood in Steven Khalil

It’s fine. A bit … we’ll be kind and say “classic,” but we really mean “stale. It’s fine. She’s fine. We expect no different from her. Kinda hate the cold shoulders, though.

Ciara in Dsquared2

The panel at the waist is weird and distracting, which is a shame, because the shape and the colors look great on her.

Constance Wu in No. 21

WAY too figure skater.

Dua Lipa in Giambattista Valli Couture

The style suits her, but it sure feels overblown and grandiose in this setting. It also looks like bedsheet couture, which is apparently a thing now.

Halsey in Redemption Couture

Not reinventing the wheel, but it suits her. Our only quibble is that her hair clashes with the dress.

Heidi Klum in Julien Macdonald

Yikes. We’re usually on board with the Heidster’s brand of self-aware Tacky Glam, but this looks like a sexed-up piano shawl and that should NOT be a thing.

Rita Ora in Giambattista Valli Couture

This reeks of consignment shop.

Tyra Banks in Gucci

COME THROUGH, MISS TYRA, you crazy, glittery train conductor of fabulous.

Vanessa Hudgens in Cushnie

It’s a basic design, but the soft pink and simple lines look great on her; especially with her hair like that. Could’ve used a little bit more sparkle in the jewelry choices.
