And with this outfit, T Lo finally hit the wall.
Don’t worry. We won’t rant. Much.
Here is the thing of it all: We’ve reached a point in celebrity styling where too much of a muchness is never enough. We like off-beat juxtapositions. We like pattern mixing and boldness and lots of colors. We actively dislike too much matchiness or a reliance on minimalism. We are, in short, big fans of Going For It when it comes to fashion choices – especially for the famous doing promotional work. But the fashion world’s going through a very luxe sort of aesthetic right now, putting out more wild silhouettes, bold prints, and a wider range of color choices than at other, more conservative times. Similar in some respects to the same sort of rules-were-meant-to-be-broken aesthetic period spanning the late sixties into the mid-seventies. That all sounds kind of fun on paper, but we’ve kind of hit the wall on looks like this one, which seem designed to hurt the eyes. All the pieces have real possibilities, but together, they’re just a cacophony of print and color.
This is just a lot of words saying one thing: That top does not go with those pants at all, we don’t care who says otherwise.
