Part one’s here! Part three’s coming! Let’s get to judging, kittens!

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen

It’s a little too “Peggy Sue Got Married” crossed with more McQueen-like elements. We really wish the bodice wasn’t sheer. It just looks like she forgot something.

Caitriona Balfe in Dundas

It’s a gorgeous dress but we refuse to sign off on heart cutouts.

Camila Cabello in Monique Lhuillier

You’re a pop star, not Scarlett O’Hara. Dial it back a little.

Cynthia Erivo in Mary Katrantzou

YES. SERVE IT, SPACE NEFERTITI.

Diane Lane in Gabriela Hearst

Chic. This word tends to set folks off if we don’t use it precisely, but this, to us, is the very best essence of mature style. Sleek, low-key dramatic, with a smart vibe and a natural poise built into the look + easy to work, because you’ve learned a few lessons over the years. Could she get out there in something drop-dead hot and jaw-droppingly glamorous and cutting-edge trendy? Absolutely. But she doesn’t want to.

Elizabeth Debicki in Armani

This is a really odd dress that is absolutely perfect for her. We’re not convinced on the metallic pumps, though.

Gemma Chan in Tom Ford

It’s a pretty standard GlamGown, but the beading looks a little too much like cobwebs to us.

Kate Beckinsale in Giambattista Valli Couture

No, that’s just silly.

Laura Harrier in Louis Vuitton

Girlfriend came to PARTY. To be honest, we’d much rather the after-party fashions were more along this line. Not that anyone needs to feel obligated to wear a mesh mini-dress, but more of a party feel in the fashion would help set the VF party apart from the seriousness of the Oscars ceremony and give designers and stylists more leeway to show off their goods.

Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen

Gorgeous. No one can work McQueen like her.

Natalie Portman in Dior

It’s maybe a little on the dull side, but it’s perfectly her and it’s in that slightly more casual party vibe that we support.

Rita Ora in Alexander McQueen

Newp.

Shailene Woodley in Dior

God.

We really thought we were done with this trend.

Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent

We’re usually not huge fans of the public bra, but that an $18,000 gold mesh Tiffany bra. It’s more jewelry than garment. And we can’t even begin to attempt the argument that she doesn’t look uniquely amazing in it.
