The black girls are just rocking the ever-loving shit out of Paris Fashion Week this year, aren’t they?
We admit that this is one of those “only for PFW” kind of looks. And possibly even “Only Janelle Monae.” Because let’s face it: those shoes are hiddy. And the striped nails did not help tone the ugliness down. Also, we’d call those braids a bit much on anyone else. And we think the jewelry comes off a little random.
But as we may have noted once or twice lately, it’s Paris Fashion Week. If you’re a celebu-gal who wrangled a front-row invite and a pile of loaned merch from a high-end Euro designer, then you’re a gal who gets to dress up as crazy as you like and have everyone ooh-la-la the shit outta you. In other words, the rules are suspended and crazy-chic is encouraged among certain of the attendees. She couldn’t be more on point.
